Indeed, the guide was taking as many photos as the tourists. They say you are witnessing something special when that happens. We’d been driving inside the park for only a couple of minutes when coming upon the pride of lions right next to the road.
I agree. They do look sleepy. So thinking of a siesta is logical. I should have given background info because this photo was taken at sunrise. These guys are just waking up.
Thanks to EQuips, 100 Country Trek, and Jim Borden for submitting terrific ideas for speech balloons for my photo. When I took the picture, I imagined the little guy on the right was saying “How come you never come out to play with us?” The watchful lion was saying “Don’t even think about it.” 🙂
They look playful don’t they. These lions must see humans all the time. I hope they would play but they may just want to see what a human tastes like. 🙂

Ha ha. I like it! The whole pride put on a great show for us for 20 minutes until we decided to move on after taking zillions of pictures.
