Seeing Mt Fuji and being in Japan for Sakura Season was eye opening for me. I began to understand a bit of the very powerful connection that mountain and the cherry blossoms have with the Japanese. Thanks for your comment!
Since several years ago, I’ve browsed information about trekking Mt. Fuji. But the fact that it is always packed with trekkers during the hiking seasons always turns me off. 😀
I hear you about overcrowding on the trails. Mt. Fuji may have great views from the top. The mountain itself looks better from a distance. I hope you get a chance to trek when the mountain is not crowded.
Hi! Views like the one in the photo make me wish I traveled with a better camera. 😊
I am thinking about traveling next month. It is a big decision and depends on the virus situation here and in Thailand. Thailand may not admit Americans or require a quarantine if cases continue to rise here. I will have to consider if getting to the airport and getting on a plane (maybe a higher risk activity but shorter duration of potential exposure) is better than remaining here as things open and cases rise (maybe lower daily risk but longer duration of potential exposure). The flight goes through Hong Kong and it was not even allowing transit passengers a few weeks ago. So its all “up in the air.” Airlines and hotels were smart to eliminate change fees and cancellation fees. I can wait to the last minute to decide.
That’s incredible, nothings better than experiencing and grasping a complete understanding for a place than up close with your own two eyes🙂

Mt Fuji is such an icon of Japan. I was happy to see it for the first time after several other visits to Tokyo.

I concur. Fuji’s effect on the Japanese is magical and similar to sakura season.
