The main building of the Komodo Indonesian Fauna Museum and Reptile Park is shaped like one of the giant Komodo lizards that roam Komodo National Park located within Indonesia’s Lesser Sunda Islands.
The battling komodo dragons above are about the size of the largest komodo dragons.
The museum and reptile park is just one small part of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (Beautiful Indonesia Miniature Park) located in East Jakarta, Indonesia. TMII is a recreational and educational area presenting in one location representations of the history and diversity of the many cultures and islands that make up Indonesia.
Sculpture Saturday is a challenge hosted by Sally Kelly at Ruined for Life: Phoenix Edition.

I don’t think I’d want to come across a Komodo dragon in the wild…

They say Komodos only eat every two months so if you see one in the wild odds are you are not in any danger. I saw many in the wild during the trek in Komodo National Park.
Being with an experienced guide I felt no danger. But the only protection the guide had was a small stick.

Oh, my… I haven’t been to TMII although I often see the glimpse of it from the highway. 😀

TMII is very impressive. As you very well know, Indonesia is made up of many, many ethnic groups and cultures. As someone who was unfamiliar with the history, geography, and ethnic makeup of Indonesia, it was a treat (although somewhat overwhelming) to see so much of it in one place. It would be really hard to visit all of those islands and villages in person. You probably already know most if not all of it but I think you would still find it interesting to stop by when you have a chance. 😄
