For this week’s Monochrome Monday, I’m using a photo of London, England. My cell phone captured this view on approach to Heathrow airport on a flight from Raleigh, NC in 2017.

Also, happy winter solstice to the northern hemisphere where the tilt of the Earth’s axis and its annual journey around the sun begins providing longer periods of daylight each day until the summer solstice in June.

This is a great photo and the skyline hasn’t changed so much today. It’s worrying what Britons are going through now especially with the new variant of Coronavirus. I hope everyone is well and the vaccines can subdue this.

It seems that almost every country goes through flare ups from time to time. I fear that Covid-19 will be hard to defeat completely even with vaccines.

What an amazing picture! I lived seven years in London and this city will always be very special to me. The riverside walks are particularly beautiful, there´s so much to see and do! Let´s hope this pandemic is over sooner than later to enjoy the beauty of life again.

The approach path was a great preview of some of the many fascinating things to do in London. I also enjoy walking by the river and taking in the sights up close. A return to the beauty of normal life will feel so good.
