Oh, my goodness! I could have gotten into a lot of trouble in that store. In elementary schools, we frequently had dress-up days. Some of these were related to curriculum (dress up as your favorite character from a book), while others were complete nonsense and more for fun. I took part in it all. We used to have Crazy Hat Day once a year, and I had quite the collection. Some kids would forget, but many others couldn’t afford such a frivolous expense. That’s when I’d drag out my extensive collection. It might have seemed silly, but it was a bonding moment. I didn’t say anything aloud, but I took great pride in getting some “too cool sixth-grader” to let his guard down and act like a kid again. π
That is a neat story. This store was made for Crazy Hat Day! Strange though I don’t see or remember seeing the traditional conical shaped Vietnamese hats here. They would be great for dress up too.
This is just like a scene from the busy markets in Lagos Island. You’d see neverending rows of the same product whether shirts, shoes or hats and it can be beautiful sometimes.
thats…. a lot of hats. enough hatties to make one batty!

I’m glad it brought back a fun memory. Some of my favorite books are ones from childhood.
