One Word Sunday is a blogging challenge hosted by Debbie Smyth at Travel With Intent. This week’s challenge is Feeling.
I chose a picture of a lion cub sitting by the road just a few miles inside the entrance to Kruger National Park. The cub and the rest of the pride put on a great show for our safari for about 20 minutes before we moved on. The cub seems to be feeling a little sad because the strange animals that come by just stare and never want to come out and play.

We both went with cute youngsters today but with very different feelings. 🙂 Cute shot.

I would have no interest in playing with this cub…

I think he wants to play. Mom and dad not so much.

I think the cub’s definition of play and mine would be quite different… 🙂

I wonder. Since they were cubs these lions see people just about everyday up close. They could easily get in the safari vehicle if they wanted to. The sides are open. Not that they are tame. Still I wonder what effect the repeated close interactions have, if any.

that’s kind of scary that they could get in the vehicles…

I think the driver would take off if the lions approached the vehicle.

I like your interpretation of his feelings – you could well be right. That or he’s feeling hungry 😉

That is a distinct possibility. Even if he is not hungry the rest of the family might be.
