One Word Sunday is a blogging challenge hosted by Debbie Smyth at TravelWithIntent. This week’s challenge is “Meet.”
Here are two photos illustrating “meet.” In keeping with the Tibet theme of recent posts, they are from a tea house on Bakhour Street in Lhasa, Tibet. Tea houses are where locals and tourists meet to chat, socialize and enjoy thick and delicious Sherpa tea.
Sherpa tea, called Po-cha in Tibet, traditional ingredients are tea leaves, yak butter, water, and salt. People consume it during the whole day mainly for keeping hydrated and warm. A copious amount of butter supplies the calories required for the amount of energy people burn in their high-altitude endeavors.
Enjoying Sherpa also provides an excellent reason for people to meet and exchange pleasantries.
Join Debbie’s challenge. Next week the theme is “Time(s).”
