One Word Sunday is a blogging challenge hosted by Debbie Smyth at TravelWithIntent. This week’s challenge is “pond or ponder.”
I chose “pond” as the subject of this post. The first photo reflects the common application of the term. It was taken at Oshino Hakkai, a village renowned for Mt. Fuji views and eight spring-fed pools of crystal-clear water.

You can buy bottles of Mt. Fuji water from the Waku pool here. It takes 80 years for melting snow on Mt. Fuji to filter through the ground and lava rock, enter the Mt. Fuji aquifer, and ultimately appear in a pond at Oshino Hakkai.
The second photo is of the flight following screen on an American Airlines flight from Raleigh, North Carolina to London, England. The photo shows our projected flight path over “the pond,” slang for the Atlantic Ocean.
Thanks for taking a look at my pond photos. Next week the challenge theme is “count.” Hmm.
lovely ponds!
