The museum isn’t highlighted on tourist info I received. It is interesting that there are two locations. There is also a railway museum in a Beijing suburb.
I haven’t been to either museum but suspect that the other location has exhibits that would be too large or too difficult to display in this building. Sort of like the National Air & Space Museum has two locations in D.C..
It definitely has strains of Western influence. But then, the West has overtaken the world in so many areas, it isn’t surprising a faraway place is touched in its influence.

It’s a lovely building … if it wasn’t for the Chinese flag and words on the building, I would have thought it was somewhere in Europe.

that is kind of odd that there would be two railway museums – seems like it would be hard enough to have one! 🙂

The newer buildings in Beijing are very much in line with western architectural styles.
