A view of Mount Rainier from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) was featured in the last Wordless Wednesday Where. This photo of the currently silent active volcano a was taken on a flight to SEA. The summit is capped with a lens-shaped lenticular cloud silently announcing the presence of strong winds and turbulence.

Lovely capture of Mount Rainier!

If skies are clear, it is easy to tell when the flight is close to Seattle.😊

I used to fly through Seattle a few times a year. It is easy to figure out which side of the plane to sit on to get a view, if possible. Thanks for visiting, Sarah.

I love the rare lenticular cloud formations. They’re like icing on a cake.

Icing on the cake is a great way to describe lenticular clouds,

It’s so gorgeous John and best to see from afar! I’ll skip the eruptions, thanks for the warning 💞

Beauty that hides a beast! 😄 I wouldn’t want to be around when Rainier erupts again.
