This is a photo of the Vitacura section of Santiago, Chile with the Andes Mountains in the background.
Vitacura is a beautiful, upscale neighborhood consisting of high-rise residences, shopping malls, and restaurants. The neighborhood is not far from Santiago’s central business district. This photo was taken in 2017 from the lounge in Vitacura’s Renaissance Hotel.
May your week be fun, productive and safe.

Lovely photo 😊. I like the architecture in black and white and the mountain backdrop.
Before Covid- 19 I was planning a trip to Northern Chile, starting in Santiago. But presently I don’t know whether I will ever go on a long distance trip again …

Thanks. The mountains and molehills of the city provide a nice contrast. Sadly we are all in the same boat as far as future travel plans.

Every city has its rich district, places which were built right and look fine. The judge of a culture is how far into the lower reaches of the society the cool buildings extend …

Chile is probably like most cultures with wealth concentrated among a small minority unfortunately. Still in Santiago and Punta Arenas, the only cities I visited, there didn’t seem to be much poverty.

That is some contrast! The majestic mountains and the canyons of the modern city.
