On April 28, 2017, American opened the Admirals Club at IAH. The lounge is located in Terminal A near Gate 25 and the connector to gates A1 to A 15.
I flew to IAH from Charlotte, NC on April 29, 2017. The lounge was not displayed on the IAH map on the American app so I thought it was not open. I was surprised to see the lounge on the way to the exit after deplaning at Gate 26. I went in for a quick look.
The agents gave a warm greeting and told me this was the second day the lounge was open. They were kind enough to pose for a picture.
The lounge is fairly small. Seating areas are to the right of the entrance. The bar and bathrooms are to the left.
The seating and decor is similar to the other new Admirals Clubs and Flagship Lounges. It is comfortable and there is plenty of work space and power outlets. I like the high back privacy chairs that are positioned between the windows and the front wall.
The food service area is located behind the reception area.
The business center is located next to the seating area at the end of the walkway on the right as one enters the club.
There is a conference table in this area but no conference room.
Entrance to the club requires purchasing a day pass or an annual membership or obtaining a Citi/AAdvantage Executive world Elite MasterCard. Getting the Executive MasterCard is probably the best way because it comes with 50,000 AA bonus miles after completing required spend and other benefits including Admirals Club access for any authorized users of the card.

The hours are 4:00am – 7:30pm each day. Food for purchase will be available staring sometime in the summer of 2017.
Overall Impression
It is great to finally have an Admirals Club at IAH. The new club is small, but they have done a great job with the location, seating and decor. The staff is rightly proud of this addition to the Admirals Club family.
